Thanks to a poster here who let me know that I didn’t put the right link for the pan with the panini press.

Well, two unusual distractions http://www.liber8tech.com/product - customize your bracelet’s appearance.
And this one (I’m changing the link to Amazon, so you can see how many good reviews.) http://www.amazon.com/Sante-Cookware-SUZ-Sushezi-Sushi/dp/B001P8J1GU
I can make sushi or nime chow, but it’s usually a mess when the rice or ingredients slosh about.
That bracelet is very cool!
Given how lopsided my cucumber rolls looked last time, that Shushezi actually sounds sort of interesting. Not that I am buying any more single use appliances.
On the subject of the eggs…
We have chickens, we eat a lot of eggs. I’m not a big fan of the hardboiled version but all the discussion her made me curious. So, I got the freshest eggs I could get (the hen was NOT happy) and placed them in boiling water. Set timer for 3:15 minutes. Removed eggs and immediately put them into a bowl of ice water. Waited until they were cool.
To peel, I tapped the egg on the counter and then rolled it a bit to break up the shell. Each and every one of them peeled perfectly. When I encountered a sticky part I moved to a different spot. The trick is to get under the thin membrane which is between the shell and the white portion.
YMMV
You can find the Sprayway Stainless Steel Cleaner at World Market for $5.99/can.
I haven’t tried Baby Foot, but I used to buy a Dr. Scholl’s foot stone that was discontinued. Using it a few times a week kept my feet lovely. After it was taken off the market, I NEVER found anything else that kept my feet as soft. I don’t LOVE pedicures…so my feet have taken a hit. Also, I DO love to go barefoot…which is supposed to be the worst. My heels now get deep cracks in them. Sorry if TMI! But they are gnarly. Just tried a new product called Pedi-Perfect. I bought mine at a local grocery but have now seen them at drugstore.com and Bed Bath and Beyond, too. You can buy replaceable rollers. Battery operated. I think about $35. I LOVE this product. My feet haven’t felt this great for years…although it is a process and I’m taking it a bit at a time. Works much better than any callus “file” I’ve purchased. I also read that it is much better than the Clarisonic version…which is much more expensive.

oh good! We have a World Market opening in a few weeks.
@MsMommy is this it?
I think they carry Sprayway Stainless Steel cleaner at Sams Club too. Best product I have used on stainless appliances.
And for a good cheap foot softener just soak your feet in a tub of warm water with a cup or so of Epson Salts. Works great.
Another breakfast of perfect hard boiled eggs here thanks to the MW thingy and the poster who recommended it.
Another foot softener idea - apply baby oil and then put on cotton socks. The pads of your feet will absorb the baby oil and soften.
Mine came and I went out to get you now what to cook tomorrow.
Btw, a pedicure gal once told me that if you have cracks, once they’re worked off, you can use liquid bandage as some sort of protector. Never tried it. I have loved going barefoot this summer.
I thought that the Sprayway can looked famiiar …but when I looked at Sams Club I could only find the Glass Cleaner version. I’ll check another Sams Club when I’m out of town.
The julienne slicer came today! looking forward to using that.
Does anyone think that maybe the minerals in different regions’ water is affecting the MW egg results? If anyone is having trouble and has a Brita, I wonder if that would help?
I use this on my feet while in the shower- no more cracked heels!!!

The minerals-- I did read comments you should always use distilled water. Of course, I’m still a rookie…
From the Brita site: The BRITA water filter cartridge only partially removes the hardness from drinking water. This part is temporary hardness, which causes scale deposits during cooking. It does not remove all of the minerals from the water. It reduces the concentration of calcium and magnesium with cation ion exchange resins, but theses substances are not completely removed as in desalination systems or industrial plants that use reverse osmosis or distillation processes, for example.
Have a question. My little metal egg holder doesn’t really sit directly on the bottom white half. There is a small, hard, thin white plastic rim that attaches to the underside of the metal piece. It fits the metal perfectly, like a gasket, and seems to keep the metal from directly touching the bottom piece. Is that what you all got, too?
And btw, there are so many different comments about this unit, how long some cook, whether some wait X or Y minutes before taking it out of the mwave, that I think the comments about distilled water are just random.

Yes, mine is constructed in this way, too.
Tried the experiment with very expensive, brown organic Costco eggs (they were out of my Wilcox Farms cheapo ones): 4 eggs pre-checked for shell integrity, 8 min in the steamer, 5 min sit (OK, got distracted by the cats!) resulted in perfect hard boiled eggs. They peeled right away, too. So 3 different batches of eggs so far and no explosions!
I am starting my Baby Foot experience today. I have decided to go the cheap route by using just the one goo-filled boot for both feet sequentially. Currently presoaking the left foot in a pail of hot water while reading the paper, surfing CC, and watching the Halloween episode rerun of TLC’s Our Little Family.
ETA: Soaking feet in hot water can bring on a hotflash!
If you have a dog with an undercoat who sheds constantly–like a Golden Retriever or a German Shepherd–by far the best thing for grooming them is an undercoat rake. The Furminator is not good for the outer coat.
Found the stainless steel spray today at my local supermarket. Worked great and better than anything else I’ve tried. Thanks!
