European self-made millionaire - chances of getting in?

Hey all,

Well this is the case. I'm a european student currently living in Sweden actually, still in high-school 2 grade (equals 12th grade us) and have one more year left (High-school ends "13th" here). I was planning to apply early action (is that what you call EA?) next year and do the tests this autumn.

So my grades are pretty "average" as I see it. At least the first year's. The second year which I am in now shows all A's and that's what I'm working on for next year too. My strong side is the extracurriculars though. I managed to get a voluntary workplace for UN in Africa (got an uncle that is a humanitarian coordinations officer), but the real top story is that I built up a business that made me a millionaire (not going into details here and now, except that it's a fully legal business =P). I also got two large companies in the branch to partner with me and the future looks bright. We are even planning to employ some engineers soon. And my ethnicity is black (funny that this is a consideration?)

I'm 18 years right now (born july 87) and would appreciate if you, who reply here, could mention your age if your a Harvard freshmen, applicant or whatever. It's an interesting aspect. I will be turning 20 the summer I graduate from high-school here (next year) and in case I enroll to Harvard. I took a 1 year break earlier so that's why I'm "older".

So how does a quick evaluation of my possibilies look like to you guys? The golden question: Do I have a chance?

Are you serious? If so then I definitely like your chances. I mean, Jesus, how many self-made millionares apply to Harvard? I'm just glad you're not competing against me, lol

Is that in US dollars?

hahahaha oh, true, maybe it's in, like, yen :p So this business is really just lawn-mowing. lol but nah, I'd imagine dollars. Or better yet, Euros.

Yeah, if you are a millionaire in USD/Euros, then you are a shoo-in at Harvard.

Well, a self-made millionaire...

No guys I'm talking about euros, but most of the money is coming in the coming 1-2 years even though I got some cash in advance right now plus lucrative charges out. That's great! Damnit...Harvard...what a dream. I'll definitely give it a go next year. I will be like 2 years older than the young US freshmen but *** :P But the problem is if I can leave the company for 4 years?...hmm I'm like the founder, I will probably have to step back to become an inactive chairman. Which means we need a new CEO. Well theres always a backside of the coin.

but hey, Thank you guys!

Oh and by the way, tell us how old you are.

WOOOOOOOOW you're a millionaire? I mean, you're worth a million or more? Wow dude...can I send you a wishlist?

Anyway, you probably have the world's biggest chance of getting in, unless you have a 200 SAT...I mean, you're a dang millionaire. People go to Harvard so that maybe someday they can be millionaires! And I hate to say this but your race does help. You certainly add diversity to the freshman class in more ways than one...Man, a millionaire???? Who needs Harvard :)

I am also a business person too, applying to wharton. What is your business?

"Man, a millionaire???? Who needs Harvard"

It helps when your pursuit is to become a billionaire :)

"I am also a business person too, applying to wharton. What is your business?"

Well, I promised not to mention any details but the business area is Media. And no, it's nothing like porn or something suspicious :P As I mentioned, I have two larger companies as partners. That's confidential though, NDAs and stuff.

I'm sensing a lack of entrepreneurism among the american applicants? It seems like your mostly into community-service-voluntary things. You could make a fortune of alot of things actually. It might give an abundance of paper work but it sure makes you experienced. An ounce of doing is worth a alot of theorizing as they say :)

That's because we Americans are all pinko commies.

"That's because we Americans are all pinko commies."

Haha, no I don't think so. You all just have to take out the Gordon Gekko inside you. That's right, greed is good (I'm not going to mention that in my correspondence with Harvard though) :)

Good idea, because Harvard is all for the distribution of goods according to need, and they won't stand for the sort of thing where one man amasses the capital that otherwise belongs to his less fortunate brethren!

"Good idea, because Harvard is all for the distribution of goods according to need, and they won't stand for the sort of thing where one man amasses the capital that otherwise belongs to his less fortunate brethren"

Excellent. I happen to have a good record of that help-your-fellow-neighbours thing with charity money and some voluntary work too. I'm not greedy, just took the Gekko line to pitch and joke a little. Tell me something about you, stats, school, age?

I really find it hard to believe that you made a million dollars. The most I've seen a CCer make is Brian Hendrix, who made 250,000 dollars with his business. can I google your name?

Run a name search on me? Out of the question. I will get back to this forum in a couple of months though and give you the name. I got some agreements and an NDA to follow at the moment, and there havent been much PR-screaming made yet. And what's a CC?

CC= college confidential
CCer = college confidential member

I still understand why its not possible to search your name in a PUBLIC search engine like Google. Please understand, though, that I am not claiming you to be a troll.
