evaluate me

Hey guys,
I'm interested in Tufts, but I'm not sure if I should apply to Tufts or not. My academic profile isn't that great, but I was just wondering if there is a chance at all.

gpa: 3.4 unweighted
SAT 1: 2250
SAT 2 Math 2s: 800
Chem: 760
World History: 760
varsity basketball team
model un officer
global issues group secretary
abrsm grade 8 piano (certified to teach)

i guess i don't have a lot of extracurriculars, but i've been really commited to them, and although i'm not at the top of anything, i still have a role in each.
also i'm an international student.
the reason for the low gpa is because of a bad semester in 10th grade, but since then i've improved my grades to an A- to A range.
what do you guys think?

Your test scores are certainly strong. Your GPA, as you note, is problematic, although the upward trend is helpful. Also, how hard has your curriculum been? Have you taken the hardest courses offered at your school? That’s at least as important as your grades.
As you also note, your ECs don’t appear to be very compelling, so if you have truly “been really committed to them,” you’ll need to find a way to communicate the depth of your involvement in your application.
WIth respect to your opening sentence, if you’re interested you should absolutely apply. You have more than a “chance,” you’ll just need to address the points noted above.
