I want to apply to Tufts next year(Im a junior). Here's my basic info:

GPA: 3.32(Yes I know it sucks)
Weighted GPA: 4.14

SAT:
Math - 750
Reading - 750
Writing - 730

SAT Subject Tests:
Chemistry - 770
Taking Math 2 and Physics in the Fall.

I would suggest applying early decision. You might have a better shot with that GPA. Your SATs are good. GPA could be better. I’d say it would be a reach school for you, but you never know. Write great essays.

I did take a great deal of AP’s. I took 3 in my sophomore year and 7 this year. Will that help?

^^ Yes it will, especially since (i) they like to see a very rigorous curriculum, and (ii) it might balance out/help explain the comparatively weak GPA.

Definitely apply! Your GPA is (as you’ve noted) lower than average but your test scores are great. You didn’t mention any leadership positions or extracurriculars, but try and highlight those in your application essays.

Are my SAT scores really good enough for Tufts? Enough to maybe make up for the bad GPA?

In terms of leadership experience, I became president of our Model UN chapter. I also helped found our schools investment club and became president of that. I also became treasurer and lead programmer of our First Robotics Team. I won second place in economics at the FBLA state conference, and I think I can pull off some sort of win in Nationals.

I do some writing on the side for money. I even got one of my articles featured on the front page of seekingalpha.

I just got a 35 on my ACTs and placed 5th in Economics in FBLA nationals. How much will these help?

They will obviously help, but good ECs, good essays and recs, and a demonstrated interest in Tufts will be important.
