Evaluate these common app essay ideas?

My first choice is 'describe a place where you're perfectly content', although I feel like there are so many ways this could easily transform into a fluffy & cliche essay.

My environment would be sitting in my room in front of my laptop, producing digital masterpieces with my trusty Photoshop CS5. I have had a passion for art ever since I was little, but it was always kind of a hidden part of me. I never really took any classes- everything was self taught. I'd talk about how making art is an escape because it's the most personal thing that I do, but it's also a place where I can show others the unique and expressive side of me. I could also talk about how I was always discouraged from art and told to take a more realistic approach to it, and how even though at times I had to create art in secret, I still expressed this side of me through my every outward action. Not sure how well this particular section would fit into the whole "describe your environment" though. The final result is my own interpretation of perfection. Or something like that.

Do you have any suggestions on how it could better fit the prompt/ be less cheesy? I unfortunately do not have any other ideas at this current moment. I could talk about my mission trip to Dominican Republic or my newly discovered passion and accomplishments for an unusual sport for girls (golf), but I'm still kind of waiting for that perfect topic to hit me.

Your art topic could definitely be a winner, perhaps consider submitting an arts supplement as well!

Thanks for your input!
I actually am not planning on majoring in art or anything art-related. Art has just been influential in my life. Do you think this essay could still help get me into some ivies? :)
