Ever been moved to tears by music?

Yes! His songs are so heartfelt and godly… I love listening him sing

I like rachmaninov’s 2nd concerto, and I remember giving one of his symphonies a listen but I didn’t like it lol. I’ll give his 2nd one a try since I have it. Coming from a violinist, though… I find piano concerto melodies a little too blended. But I enjoy them nontheless :)

When it comes to violin concertos, I like prokofiev and glazunov. Vieutemps too (no. 4 > no. 5  )

“Amazing Grace”, especially when it’s played on the bagpipes (I know…I know). Probably because it makes me think of funerals (policemen, firefighters…Spock  )

I’ve cried to a few songs and I cry everytime I hear them.

Far Away - Marsha Ambrosius (wrote b/c her best friend was bullied into suicide b/c he was gay)

Dance with My Father - Luther Vandross (what would my life be without my dad?)

Speechless - Lady Gaga (I just love it so much!)

This is the only song that actually made me cry because of the actual song, not the circumstances (at a funeral or something)
Blackbird by the Beatles. The lyrics have SO much meaning for me personally. And the part where the bird was chirping somehow reminded me of my late grandmother. I don’t know how but it did. Needless to say, when I listen to it I still get the chills.

@crazypluto: ok, i love you. thank you for being a high schooler who actually digs classical. i’m a pianist, so i guess it makes sense our tastes are a little different. are you a paganini fan?
i LOVE prokofiev (seen his pieces at the boston symphony twice now) but haven’t listened to glazunov at all, i’ll check him out tonight. let me know what you think of rachmaninov. thoughts on shostakovich?
