So did anyone get the new Kaplan SAT book with the 12 practice SAT tests? If so what do you think of it? Is it like the real SAT? Any comments?

The book is filled with an enormous amount of errors. As it has been mentioned before, I really don't like anything made from one of the test-prep companies because they cannot accurately model their tests over the Collegeboard's book; and this is a book can definitely serve as the archetype for any discussion on the subject.

nothing beats the blue book

Personally, I would just take the tests at the local bookstore. There are tons of mistakes; it's not worth the money. Plus, there's no review! So it's not even worth keeping.

Kaplan made their book before the new sat came out. How are you supposed to study from that?

this book just came out...it's in new sat format

gexxman
do you own the book? or are you just judging it from your experiences from other Kaplan books?(i agree that they were horrible)

i do know that nothing beats the CB tests but i've exhausted every single one of them. i'm looking for alternatives...

Yes I own the book because it comes free when you sign up for one of their courses. I would never buy it if I saw it at a bookstore.

I would go for PR's book instead.

i think for about $1 a test (amazon.com) its totally worth it, if you already have the blue book. I mean it wont hurt you!But i think the pr book is better.

DAMNNNNIT!!! I just ordered this at amazon. :( I wish I saw this eariler

If you've taken all of the CB Blue book tests + 10 Reals + CB Online Study Guide + older tests you've obtained...what more can you do? I mean, how is studying KAPLAN questions going to help you raise your COLLEGEBOARD test? You have to learn from the source. If you're not getting the scores you want by that much practice then work on your strategy, but taking more fake practice tests isn't going to help you imho.

Also, Kaplan's book contains many things that never showed up in the Collegeboard's book, so I think many things tested in their book is too superfluous.

if you just ordered u can cancel the order!!!!!!!!!!

On a side note, when you guys are taking all these tests, do you take the full length tests or sections at a time? Do you actually sit down for 4 hours or do you take 1-2 sections a day?

I think the best way is just to go all the way so you are used to the setting during the actual deat day. Unless of cousre you are super confident you are going to ace the one section, then you might not want to waste your time.

uhhh...i think if you have to book, totally USE IT!! i mean, are we ONLY supposed to depend on colllegeboard because they make the test? i think that is was collegeboard wants us to think, and people are just buying into it. haha. i mean, come on, its a practice test! it will not hurt you just because kaplan made it. i am planning to buy it, because i've used up blue book!
