I have ideas for what I want to say but am not really sure how to go about writing the essay for my ED school. I know there is no real "best" way to write them but is it generally better to take the more methodical "I would be a good fit at _____ because...." or use a more creative approach with more showing than telling.

I'd always chose the "show, don't tell" method, as long as you're still getting the same point across. Anyone can say that they'd be a good fit, but it's a lot harder to show why that's true, so I say go for that approach. Also, those essays tend to be more creative, and therefore more fun to read.

I think either way works. I don't think they're expecting really creative responses. If you want to be creative, do so. There are few limitations. When I visited Swarthmore, the admissions dean said that she just wanted to know why. Think about some of your goals and why you think your college will help you achieve those goals. What do you like about the school? I think they just want very honest answers. How you display it is up to you.

If it's a full essay, you should use a more creative way. If it's just a supplement, you can go traditional. Especially if you don't have much space.

If you need help, feel free to PM me. ...I did so many of these app time. -/

The best one I've seen was IR09, but he is applying this year. I didn't see the point he was making till the end, and it was extremely well done. It all fit together perfectly with what he was trying to do.
