Excel@Carolina and Honors College invitations

My daughter received an invitation to Excel@Carolina just after she received her acceptance. She filled out the survey and emailed it back. Yesterday, she received an email saying that she was accepted to Honors. Is this because Honors was one of the items she checked off on the Excel list or will she still receive one of the Excel options?

Wondering if you received response to your question? My daughter also filled out her survey for Excel @Carolina, one of her choices was Honors Carolina and just received email few days ago and mail yesterday acceptance into Honors Carolina. Is this what Excel is offering her?? It was not her first choice, hoping she will also receive another Excel option.

I’m pretty sure the way Excel works is you get one of the top 3 you ranked in the survey and I’m pretty sure you only get one thing so if they got Honors I don’t think they are getting anything else. UNC has more information about this on their Admissions website in the scholarships section.

I was wondering the same thing, if this Honors was because my son received one of his 5 choices, or if it was separate. My feeling is it was separate.

For Excel@Carolina, my son put down honors Carolina as his first choice and assured admission to the eshelman school of pharmacy as his second choice. He was invited to honors Carolina and when he emailed if this was a result of his Excel@Carolina choices, they said it was. However, a few weeks after honors Carolina emailed him, the school of pharmacy emailed him saying that he has been chosen to proceed in the assured admission process so I believe a student can have more than one of their choices offered.

@pandasrecool7 when did you son receive notice he was was in Honors Carolina?

Congratulations by the way!
