Excellent cello teachers?

<p>Once again I'm looking for information for my friend who has a dial up connection (!). She is the one whose daughter wanted to go to Eastman and didn't get in. Her subsequent college search was pretty much a disaster. Now my friend is trying to make sure that doesn't happen with her next-in-line.</p>

<p>He is a cellist, and a very good one. He also runs (track) and does not know what he wants to major in. He will be a junior this fall. He has strong grades I think.</p>

<p>My friend was looking for ideas on where there are good cello teachers - probably not in conservatory though. Any ideas?</p>

<p>WIll he do track in college? What part of the country? WHat size school? What kind of financial needs will he have?</p>

<p>I think he's hoping to do track. Probably northeast region of country. Unsure of sizes - mom thinks he'd do fine at even a large school. Will likely qualify for need-based aid (some anyway). Thanks.</p>
