Excellent Public Schools For Safety

All the colleges I applied to are in the list I posted.

Just to clarify the two documents aritct mentioned replace the FAFSA for International applicants. In case you apply to a college where you're not applying for aid then you only need to submit the International Student Certification of Finances.

arit...

I have a sister in her third year of college and she has a US resident cosigner, who is IN the states.

My parents can't co-sign because they are situated in HK. RIght?
So my dad's bro, who is situated in the states, will co-sign for me.
Does that mean the whole responsibility of the tasks you stated is shifted on him?

and I also want to know more about student loans. which, Allah knows, i have a very narrow knowledge of.

hmmm.....I really don't know anything about co-signing but I guess in that kind of a situation, your dad's bro will be responsible for you.

what d'you mean by cosigner? As an international student I'd assume your parents would be supporting you for your education, so they'd sign the financial aid forms as would you. As for the verification of the details you fill out, the bank statement or letter from employer fulfills that purpose.

i see.

what did u do ? i'm guessing you did what you stated above?

what if my parents don't make enough money?

That's why you're applying for financial aid, so in the aid form there's a place where you indicate how much you can contribute; essentially they're signing to verify the information that's on the form since it's about their accounts. Have a look at the form, it'll make things clearer.

will do k twin

unless you need a full tuition scholarship, in case of most need-based colleges, your parents would have to pay only a partial amount of the total cost.

If you need a full tuition scholarship, then I'm sorry to say that the competition for that is VERY VERY HARSH.

god i don't even knw what i'm talking about.

you see my sister applied for student loans. and from what i've been hearing she will be paying for it herself in 10 years time or so. but just in case she doesn't her cosigner will pay for it.

i think im getting student loans and the latter mixed up

Yes you are; the financial aid application's very different. I don't really know that much about student loans.

alright. ok

mhmm. so you having applied for financial aid, means that your parents have to contribute with the cost yes?

I didn't really understand what you're asking, could you rephrase?

sorry, i got things jumbled up...and it wasn't logical..

that's why i went to bed. i had been up for 44 hours straight!

does anybody know how hard it is to get into Brown University?

i am thinking of listing it as one of my REACHES.

and they require SATS 2 yes?

Brown is an Ivy, so obviously its hard to get into Brown.
And most of them do not require SAT 2s but recommend that you take them.
That means that if you take them and score high, it will boost your app :)

i see.

thanks arit.

how was your weekend? :D
