I know many of you despise the long grueling hours of filling out apps and writing essays but ironically for me, i'm actually quite excited to be a senior, skip classes, write apps, and finding out which college i will go to.

I’ve been able to drive since my sophomore year of high school.
I’m a senior and I pretty much do whatever the hell I want around my school. I already got a full-ride to college so I’m not concerned much about high school.

Senioritis doesn’t exist until at least second semester. Honestly, I found first semester senior year to be the hardest semester of high school. Start college apps in the summer, don’t be like me and wait until EA rejection to freak out and cram in a crap load of schools.

Also, fill out a spreadsheet with deadlines and requirements for each college. You would be surprised how much they vary.

Good luck! If you’re on top of it, it’s a fun and very introspective process.

This is the best advice ever. It’s something I personally heard a million times, but I kind of ignored it. I definitely regretted that when it was the end of October and I still had to start my main Common App essay.

I agree with what one poster said; I thought first semester of senior year was the hardest semester I’ve experienced in high school. I put off doing college apps until September, and they came in waves. I’m not even kidding, I didn’t sleep for two days because I wrote over 30+ pages of college entrance essays. It was ridiculous.

But five months and four scholarships later, I would say that it was worth it!
