What is up with all of these "Exclusive Applications" and such I get from schools via email. I've never seen them discussed before.

Should I use them instead of the Common App?

Should I use them instead of the Common App?

if you are planning on applying to that school and you get a priority app, then yes, use that. It is basically the schools way of showing interest in you and it generally means that you have a pretty good chance of getting in...

You usually get the application if you put yourself on the mailing list.

Most of the applications are shorter than the common app (and thus quicker to complete), but they are done on paper and must be mailed in. Most colleges/universities note that there is no advantage of using their own application over the common app.

joshua- i think you are thinking of something else...

he is talking about the priority applications that you get through email... they are submitted online and include no essay and a waived application fee...

Oh, sorry, I was thinking of the applications that you may receive in the postal mail... sorry about that :-(

Well, personally I'd apply to any school that waived my fee, even if it meant using their app. Saving money = win. Too bad none of the schools on my list have sent me waivers...

Aside from what colleges say, is there some sort of advantage by using their app instead of common app? Even a little?
