DD is getting many of those emails/letters offering the application fees to be waived and fewer/no essays to write, etc. They offer a special online application and code to use when completing the application. They also say that you can have the same benefit by using the Common Applications, but they don't say HOW to do that on the Common Application. While I understand there are many schools that don't charge a fee for doing an online application, the schools we are looking at do normally. DD's school requires them to use the Common Application for school applications where they are available, even if the school has other online apps. For anybody who has had experience with these offers, how did you take advantage of them on the Common App?

When you complete the common application, and are set to send it, look to the payment page, and there should be a place to indicate that you are using a fee waiver. Click that and the college will take care of it on their end. If you want, she can email the admissions office to verify.
