Exeter and Andover Chances

What are my chances for these two schools?
SSAT:
Reading: 85% (I Hate this score.)
Math: 91% (I thought I did perfectly on this but I didn't. I hate this score to.)
Verbal: 96% (I was suprised at this score. I thought I would get like a %70.)
Overall: 95%

GPA:
I don't know the number. There are no honors in our 8th grade. I had mostly A+ with a fews A's for my 6th and 7th grade year. In 8th grade straight A's with one B+ that I hate.

State Standardized test (NJASK)-
Reading 294 for 6th grade
Math 296 for 6th grade
Reading 300 for 7th grade
Math 264 for 7th grade (I HATE this score.)
This is all out of 300. I was shocked from my 300 in reading. Anyway, over 250 is advanced proficient.

Interview-
Both were very good.

Extra Curric.-
Piano 6 years
School News Paper Editor- 3 years
Math Team- 3 years top 8
Soccer- 3 years
Swimming- 9 years
Tae Kwon Do- 6 years black belt
I play a litte violin.

Awards/Community Service-
2nd place Art Award
Multiple recognition awards
Helped clean up a park
Helped my Tae Kwon Do place to teach younger children
3rd place Tae kwon Do sparring trophee
Was published in my local newspaper I won a contest for Hurricane Katrina Relief

Essays-
Both are really good.

So what are my chances? Thanks!

soo wat if u hate those scores.... u can't do anything about them

btw no chance

There is nothing here that makes you stand out against the other top applicants.

Your schools will love the fact that you hated your scores instead of pulling your finger out and actually doing something about them

moonstaff,
You seem like your fishing for compliments, but again if it's real I think you have a very good chance...
Wowsa,
You have said that to like 5 different very qualified applicants, not everyone can stand out... it's just good if you can, not a requirement.

Although I believe some people are being overly harsh, stop hating yourself. While Andover and Exeter are obviously full of amazing students, they don't want OCD geniouses running around the campus when they are trying to build a great community. Everyone there is motivated and intelligent, but there are students there who average a B and scored in the 80th percentile on their SSATS (gasp)

Na. Not fishing for compliments, just not that special. I mean you may get in anyone MAY get in. I think there just saying that judging by what you've written nothing looks amazing or eye opening....

^ agreed.....

I'm sorry if I made it sound like I was trying to get compliment. I'm just worried because a lot of people have similar scores and extra curricular ect. So I'm just wondering if I stand out or am I just going to have to be lucky because everyone is around where I stand.

What exactly would be eye opening? Obvious things would be a perfect SSAT score? Is there anything I can do in these last two weeks before sending in my application to make it look better? Thanks! (Probably not likely. I know.)

Just write your essays as well as you can.

Thanks for the advice.

Yup, I agree with Tom. Your scores are enough to be taken seriously at any school so it's really up to you. You can't magically have 3 more ECs lol.

Nose, I said the same thing to you. Get over it. There lots of applicants like this one.

In some way or another you have to standout...it may not be signifiant but in some way or another. The way you "stand out" might be the same way 20 other people "stand out", but something has to be unique there. Not always necessarily something you can control either.

do you think a signicant passion for singing and guitar is enough to stand out? i.e. choir, more select vocal ensembles, music clubs, lessons?

kentkid: are you male? If so, then yes.

Ya. good enough

so generally passion?
