Does Exeter, Andover, ect look at grade averages of the previous year or each individual marking period. For example if a students grade averages are very good but one singular marking period they did pretty bad, what matters most to the admissions office.
Hey beccca, I just got into St.Pauls as a Fourth former(10th grader).First and foremost, I want to give you my regards. I hope you find immense success in the upcoming boarding school circuit. Its a great opportunity and you will have the time of your life. To be frank, grades aren’t that important. If you have mostly A’s and a couple of B’s, you did great on the ssat and you can write and communicate poignantly, you are in good shape. The overwhelming majority of schools fight relentlessly to locate special talents. So, dont be too worried about grades. Lets take me for example, I got mostly A’s and a couple of B’s, got a 78th percentile on my ssat, but could communicate and write very effectively, and got in.(Dont play any sports) Those are the primary factors they take into consideration. But to answer your question directly, they look at your average. You can send me a direct message if you have anymore questions and I will respond in a jiffy! Good luck!!!
Thank you
