Expensive Dorms Or Apartment Headache

Hi I'm am a transferring junior and this will be my first time living without my parents. Should I just risk the money and stay in the dorms to avoid being overwhelmed or are the apartments just the better place to go. I was considering northview but I really can't find one positive thing said about it.. Please help

Hi 3deejay1,
My daughter lived both in on campus apartments (Lake Claire and Towers) and then moved to the off campus Boardwalk apartments. If you have a car then it is easy to be off campus, especially since many are furnished, occupied by almost all UCF students, and the UCF bus stops at the apartment complexes, even those not affiliated with the college, so you don’t even have to drive and park. I don’t think you would be overwhelmed, especially if you manage your time well and get to classes as scheduled. The bus even picks up on weekends and is a great way to get to the football games! At Boardwalk, my daughter had her own bedroom with attached private bathroom. Each of her 3 roomies had the same, and they shared a kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry, and balcony. Most complexes have pools and hot tubs so that is another way to meet people. Congrats on your acceptance to UCF! I hope you enjoy your time there!

I lived on campus my first year but I prefer off-campus housing. It’s cheaper and better, IMO.

Northview is a new campus dorm opening this Fall 2013 so there won’t be any reviews of it because no one has ever lived in it.
