Expensive Masters of Accounting Programs vs Binghamton

I am a rising senior accounting major. I am planning on attending college for a 5th year to get my masters in accounting.

Looking at the top masters of accounting programs on U.S. News, most of the top 10 have tuitions ranging from 30k-50k.

I currently attend Binghamton and if I did the masters of accounting there, the cost would only be about 9k.

My goal is to be hired by big4 firms in the long run. Binghamton's website claims that 95% their ms grads are offered a job by big 4 firms. Now im not sure if that statistic is valid or not, but nevertheless, Do the top schools really give u that much of a leg up to justify the high costs?

yea, Just go for Bing’s accounting program. The end result will be the same, so why spend the extra ~30K. You might as well use that money on a decent car and still be a big 4 accountant, lol. I, myself will be going to Baruch this fall for undergrad freshmen year, but plan on transferring to Bing. GL to both of us! But seriously, go to Bing!

I feel pretty confident that employers care mostly about the CPA label after your name, not the Macc program you went to. After all, the sole purpose of a Macc is to get enough credits for the exam.

Cool, thats what I figured, thanks guys
