Syracuse vs. Binghamton:MS Accounting(Urgent)

HI guys, I got admited as a transfer student for the spring to both Syracuse and Binghamton, accounting program. I will have 3 more years at one of these two schools to get my MS accounting degree and take CPA.

I don't have many days to decide since the deadline for deposit is Dec 30th.
So please give me some advice. I really don't know which one I should choose.

After scholarship and financial aid, I need to pay approximately $8000 for everything including housing at syracuse university. Binghamton---$0.

I heard the accounting program at Binghamton has a very strong reputation, big four recruit at Bing heavily every year, and I have no pressure since I don't need to pay for anything.

However, Syracuse as a private school, and SOM has a 42 ranking in the nation, might give me a even better service and education. And I think I will get more scholarship in the second semester there so forget the cost.

So the most important part is which school has a stronger reputation in MS accounting and will give me a better oppotunity to get good interships and jobs in the future?

Please give me some advice, I will really appreciate it. Thank you and have a great holiday!

go with binghamton...its more respected you'll get the same or even slightly better education

Syracuse is probably more nationally ranked and the program probably has a bit more prestige than binghamton. However, I know as a student that many of my friends at binghamton in finance, economics, or accounting, have absolutely no problem getting a job at a big 4 accounting firm in NYC.

I would say your decision is based largely on whether you believe Syracuse is worth the extra 8,000 a year to attend. The choice really depends on your economic situation. If you think its worth it to go to Syracuse then its a good option, or if you believe that Binghamton is a better value for the money then go with Binghamton.

I can't make the decision for you and in fact you will probably say I am biased for being a student at Bing, but I can tell you neither choice is a bad decision, they are both good schools, it just depends on your economic background.

AFireInside530, I was wondering if you were referring to the BS or the MS program (in Bing) about the big 4 jobs?
