I know that B-schools require work experience before applying and that the average amount of experience is around 5 or 6 years. But for a job such as Financial analyst(where you may not be allowed to stay for 6 yrs), would a 2 year stint be good enough for admission into places such as Wharton etc?

For MBA admission there is no such thing as an ideal job that gets you in, but if you worked as an analyst then I think that would count as pretty significant work experience.

It depends on your entire profile.

Two years is the low end of work experience, but it's do-able. What is most important is that you gain some sort of leadership experience. If you can get that in two years, then go for it! If not, then work another year or two.

lemme ask this, is an internship for 4+ years during your college years enough experience for immediate post graduate MBA applicants?

2 Years in investment banking/management consulting/trading/brokerage is the equivalent of between 3-4 years in other places. :)

If you were in investment banking/consulting/trading 2-3 years is more than enough.
