How much experience is enough?

Hello fellow CC users,

The question that is bothering me is whether two years at one of M/B/B (where I started my consulting gig recently) is enough for top MBA programs for a candidate with about a year at a more or less equivalent position previously (2x 15-week summers and also part time during school, should look more or less like a year on my resume) given my GPA and other appropriate stats are very good and assuming I do well on the GMAT.

I have heard contradictory opinions so far whether two or three years will do the trick and would love to get your input: your opinion will determine whether I will spend Christmas break studying for the GMAT or put it off for next year in case two years are not enough.

Thank you very much in advance!

I believe it is the quality not the quanity that matters ;]

Agreed. Having said that, what is the verdict?

Do you feel you need it now?

GMAT score is good for 5 years. So why not take it now?

I will probably go ahead and do that, Japher, but still want to figure out if two years could be enough

I think that’s a personal question. If you mean enough to gain admittance than it probably is, dependent on the other factors. If you mean enough to reap the greatest reward from the experience, then who knows.

True words of wisdom – thank you Japher
