<p>Can you guys explain about these terms common in CR?
a)extended metaphor
b) A figurative expression</p>
<p>Hmm...I've always understood an extended metaphor to just be a metaphor (a comparison between two unlike things) that lasts throughout the text. (Like, they keep referring to it.) Aaand a figurative expression is just something that does not literally mean what it says.</p>
