What are these? I know they are themed floors at dorms that bring the community together, but what are some of the features each one offers? Are they more expensive? Do you get a better experience living in them? More fun? Any explanation would be appreciated.

Exploration floors are basically what you said. I’m not exactly sure what you mean by features though. No they are not more expensive. Whether you get a better experience form living on one really depends of the chemistry of the people your floor. But they do bring together people with similar interests. They CAN be more fun if you’re into the theme.

I lived on the Media Revolutions NYC explorations floor in Founders this past year. We didn’t do that many events based on our theme, but I’m still glad I picked the floor. We still had plenty of other events though. There were some media-themed events, but none of them really interested me and I was really busy this past year so I didn’t go to any of them. Some people did go though and had a good time. Everyone kinda did their own projects throughout the year, and a few we worked on together, nothing really floor-wide. Though one great thing we did at the end of the year was a hold a gallery to showcase some of our works.

As far as I could see, the other explorations floors in Founders didn’t do that much along the lines of their theme either. Maybe a couple event here and there. I would suggest an explorations floor if you like being around people with similar interests, and I think that was what the best part for me. Not everyone on an explorations floor applied for it though. Some people are just placed there. About a third of my floor didn’t apply. All events are optional though, so it’s up to you how involved you want to be.
