Im from Atlanta!

Hey guys! So, I created an unofficial group for the trip b/c I am that excited…

Hey guys, so i emailed claudia and she said that our hosts don’t find out who we are until a day before so they may or may not contact us, meaning we will not know if we need a sleeping bag or not. What are you all doing? I don’t know how to fit a sleeping bag, towel, blanket, and all my clothes in a carry on…

I would guess that a good number of Bowdoin students either have a sleeping bag or can borrow one through the Outing Club or another student. My son had to take one for his orientation trip; I don’t know if he’s planning to be a host (has a friend from high school who will be attending) but I wouldn’t worry about bringing a sleeping bag unless you are specifically told you need to.

Well, they told us to bring a sleeping bag just in case. I think I am just going to attach mine to my carry-on. I also don’t want to be cold at night  But my sleeping bag is HUGE. I am not sure if they would allow me to bring it with the carry-on…

Cookieis77, ok so I’m up in North carolina right now and checked out some camping places. Did you know they sell mattresses and sleeping bags that are very small, about the size of a shoe. But also, the guy at the store told us that they sell super small ones at Walmart. My mom is going to go to Walmart and Target this week to check it out. That is the route I am going to go! SO you might want to check out a camping place, and I’ll let you know about Walmart/Target!

tferran: thank you so much!!! I am definitely going to check it out!! But are those sleeping bags gonna be warm enough?

Wait, I am probably going to check my luggage because I have to bring a bottle of contact solution with me that’s more than 1 oz. They probably would not allow me to bring that on the plane :/

Cookieis77: yeah, they’ll definitely be warm but also like bring a hoodie incase? Isn’t the liquid rule 3 oz? i think it is, you might want to check that out.

tferran: mine is a pretty big bottle and I don’t have a smaller one (they don’t sell smaller ones for the solution I use). But I have a pretty good feeling that I am gonna over-pack and have to check my bags anyway…

There are the rules: [Airport Security Q&A | IndependentTraveler.com](<a href=“Cruise Reviews, Cruise Deals and Cruises - Cruise Critic”>Cruise Reviews, Cruise Deals and Cruises - Cruise Critic)
All the liquid bottles need to be able to fit in one quart-sized zip bag.
