Is anyone going to the one on 3/30? If so, what class are you sitting in on?

Has anyone been to one of the overnights before who could tell me what to expect? Thanks!

I went to the one on March 6/7. It was pretty interesting, some people said it was pointless, but the whole thing is academic recruiting. Funny, some faculty thought we were athletes being recruited, which confused most of us. You'll have a little welcome talk, then sit in on a class (I did Theories of Justice, which was surprisingly interesting). Lunch is in the Alumni center and some depts. of your interest will be there to talk to you, otherwise you'll talk to them after lunch. You get some free time for shopping, etc. Then there's study abroad and undergrad research talks. You'll meet your host, again some free time, theoretically to put your stuff in their dorms then meet for dinner in the Pope box of the football stadium. Breakfast the next morning is the last official thing, but I went to one of my host's classes, just to see a little more. We didn't have an official tour, so if you've never been to campus, that's a little weird but my host was a tour guide so she led some of us on a tour at 10 that first night. It was fun, overall, and I got to miss two days of school. Hope that's not too much for you to read :P Have fun!

i just got into unc...what is the explore carolina overnight thing? i never heard of it
anyone know how to arrange to stay overnight with a student?

I went on 3/30, and it was decently organized. Basically staying with a student is fun and teaches you a lot about life there; the actual information sessions were very weak.
