Just saw the Invite to Explore Carolina overnight April 14? Will it fill up fast? Do we need to RSVP right away? Did anyone go to the one in March? What were you're impressions?

i went to the overnight thing in march! but i was like the only one that didn't actually sleep over (i live so close to chapel hill and i've slept in their dorms anyway because a lot of my friends, including my sister, go there so i really saw no point). i thought the whole thing was pretty cool. it did get slightly boring at times but it was overall a good experience. the campus is nice and we got the opportunity to visit one or a few professors from our area of interest (i'm undecided so i went to the physics/astronomy department). at the end we had a nice dinner and an impressive concert by the tar heel voices. david meredith is such a cool guy.

as for whether you need to rsvp right away, i would say to do it pretty soon, especially if you want to make sure you can attend the morning class. when i went to sign up, every last regular explore carolina program was filled except the overnight ones (i guess because they invite less people to these). so it could easily happen that the overnight ones get filled up soon too.

Hey Charmedone- I'm the guy who visited Physics/Astronomy with you.

I stayed overnight with the program, and it was a nice taste of campus life. My host took us out around campus- until it started raining pretty badly, then we watched a movie with the guys from his hall. Other than that- I agree with what Charmedone said- it was pretty good overall with alot of unique stuff (how often do you get to eat dinner in the Pope Box?). Visiting the departments was also fun as we got to see students and professors who were really into what they were doing.
