Explore or Preview - are they necessary?

If we're going to the on-capus admitted student reception next Sunday, is it necessary to book another day at USC? Do any of you know from experience if the extra exposure is useful in making a good decision? We are also going to a local USC reception on Saturday in Brentwood! That's a lot of cardinal & gold!

Thanks for any thoughts from current students or prospective students who have attended these this Spring...

It is not mandatory to attend any of these events. It's by your own choice.

I just went to the Explore USC session today. It changed my view of the university quite a bit. Beforehand, I had believed USC's reputation of being the "University of Spoiled Children," but now I really respect the university and it is one of my top choices. Overall, the Explore USC program was well conducted, thorough, and effective enough to change a non-believer's opinion. You are going to the reception on campus and a reception already, however, so I'm not sure how explore USC and those two differ from each other. If I were you, I'd skip one (or both) of those receptions and just go to Explore USC.

THANKS trckrazie88
that was really helpful...my son is already pretty well sold on being a Trojan but his Bruin parents, of which I am one, might need to take a closer look!!!!

If you can get to campus, I think going there & doing a program there would be preferable to doing an admitted students reception off campus. We went to the off-campus reception in Honolulu & it was fine but I think you can get a much better idea of the campus, housing, & ambience by being on-campus. My son is happy to be matriculating there in the fall.
