<p>& for those who have gone in the previous years, was it a good experience of getting a feel for the school?</p>
<p>You should go if possible. USC does a great job at their student receptions. You will find out exactly what USC can offer you should you attend. You will get a feel for that famous Trojan Family feeling. You will have the opportunity to ask questions. And if you need more info, I bet you will leave with contact information for someone who can help you. Every event I went to for my son only increased the respect and admiration we had for the school. At first, we thought we hated USC (based on old stereotypes), but after one visit we started considering it and after two visits, we were sold. Son is a freshman and loves it.</p>
<p>I'm hoping that if I meet someone chill I can be roommates with them. Seriosuly, too many roommate horror stories. Some random ****** bag becomes your roommmate and you have to lock all your ****. I want some level of prescreening</p>
<p>thanks for the feedback, bessie! i'm sure that'll be the case for me too. i wasn't planning on attending USC, but not that i've gotten in, i'm seriously considering it. i didn't know anything about USC at first, but knowing more about it, i'm beginning to love it!</p>

i know what you mean! but USC and most privates do a thorough job with roommate matching no? i know USC has an online matching thing where they ask you questions about your study/sleeping habits and your interests and whatnot. it sounds like a matchmaker service, but with a roommate instead. sounds interesting!</p>

<p>Is an "Explore Usc day" just as helpful as the admitted student reception? Traveling from across the US, I can only attend one.</p>
<p>the explore usc program gives you a better feel of the campus life and such, so since i'm assuming you're not from cali, it might be a better option to do that instead.</p>
<p>they're basically going to almost kind give you a taste of a typical day at usc. from meeting with current students and touring the campus/neighborhood, meet faculty and eat there. it's costs $50/per person though. so i don't know.</p>
<p>from the information i got, it seems you can do more at the on campus admitted student reception because you have a chance to meet alumni and tour housing and i don't think there's a cost? that's the information i received in the mail!</p>
<p>Be honest, is visiting a school, or doing explore USC, going to give you an accurate impression of the students there. For example, how closely will your interactions with other students as a explorer match your interactions as a student. (I know it cant be perfect but is it way off or do you blend in more or less)</p>
<p>I mean for real, you guys better be this nice when I'm actually there.</p>

<p>it's not like they're saying doing the explore program you'll see what the student life is like.
they're basically telling you what they have and showing you, and basically the impression you get from all of that is what you make of it.</p>
