Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had a good experience with summer classes, specifically expos. I am taking it this summer and wanted everyone's opinions and tips on what to do. I picked a pretty good professor with positive reviews so I am hoping for an A. I am still a high school senior so I have no experience with the college courses and how they work. Any tips would be great.

If you search this forum for ‘expos’ you will find many tips.

Basically, do the reading before class, highlight important text in your book, take notes, listen to professor for tips and hints, write the full amount of pages. Do not summarize the readings in your papers.

Professor will give you a formula for your writing: follow it. When he makes corrections to your paper, make the revisions. Make the revisions.

Do not procrastinate. Teachers have office hours which are like a hr long when you can have a 1 on 1 talk with the professor. You can ask her/him how to improve your paper. I heard some professors will let you look at the draft of the paper before handing it in and give helpful advice.
