Express Mail Help

HI EVERYONE!

i need ur help. I mailed my app to yale via express mail, and forgot to check off the "waive signature" box, meaning that the postman is trying to deliver it to the PO BOX at yale and needs a signature. I tracked the app via the tracking number and it said that a notice was left notifying that a delivery was attempted. I called the post office to tell them to deliver it without a signature, but they said they couldnt do that...so the postman is gonna reattempt a delivery on tuesday, after which he will leave it in the post office for three days for pickup, after which he will mail it back to me. I tried to contact yale's office abt this...but apparently each time i call and press 5 to talk to an admissions officer they hang up. WHAT CAN I DO...PLZ I NEED UR HELP/suggestions...

Can you mail a separate sheet explaining the situation with your signature? Or re-send the part of the app with the signature and ask the postman to deliver the two together?

Option 2) Email your regional representative about it. I did something similar for Yale SCEA and received a response within a couple of days.

I can't think of anything else besides flying to New Haven yourself to sign the app, which would certainly show commitment :)

tkm, i appreciate ur response, but i think you misunderstood me....the app itself is FINE, its the EXPRESS MAIL, which has a signature requirement in ORDER TO BE DELIVERED...anyone else with any suggestions...and y cant i reach yale's office...they keep hanging up after i press "5"...

The way signature-required deliveries work in student mailboxes at Yale is that they leave a slip in your PO Box telling you to come pick up & sign for the mail at the parcel window. If this is how teh admissions mailbox works too, you should be fine. I think tkm256's suggestion of emailing your regional rep (ie. to explain why your app is late or where it needs to be picked up) might be a good one though.

Don't freak out, I'm sure you'll come up with a way to fix this. Good luck! :-)
