The one night I’m on break and can afford to stay up this late…nothing. The other two acceptances I got came right at midnight. :(

I think they’ll either be done early this morning or during school tomorrow

Ok, going to bed. Ill be back at 5 am : )

I don’t really know why they couldn’t put them up at midnight. They’re sending the letters out tomorrow as well, which means that today or maybe even earlier they had to print out all our letters to get ready to mail out. The decisions are obviously already set in stone at this point. The only upside I can see is that the site (hopefully) won’t be crashing all day and people will stagger a bit in checking. But as soon as the word gets out, the site will crash. So there really is no upside.

…I’m incredibly impatient, could you tell? Could anybody tell me an actual benefit to this that could make me see reason?

I think they’re trying to have a staggered log in like you said, but it already crashed so… Maybe they’ll release them around 8 when everyone is already in school? This would cause a crash at 3, however. At any rate, if it isn’t there when I wake up, I’ll be refreshing it all day on my phone. This is really the only thing that has frustrated me about UNC. If they’re going to tell us the day, at least they should have given us the courtesy of what time. If I knew that they’d be released at 9am, I would less anxious than not knowing and having to refresh this and the blog all the time. There is NO benefit that I see :/

you guys are all wimps! welcome to college, we stay up late ;)

haha i’m still up! but only because i can’t fall asleep thanks to all the coffee i had

oh and btw, decisions are still not up!

that sucks. I guess their reasoning (if they have any at all) is to post them sometime early in the morning so people will check them when they wake up instead of before they go to sleep, so others will be too unconscious to notice that they are posted and check theirs also. Or maybe they will just post them tomorrow at 5pm… who knows…

Still nothing …

I just woke up (I went to bed early), and there’s nothing there yet. I have an exam at 10:30 so I’m going to resist the temptation of checking again until after it’s over. A LOT of schools release decisions at like 6 p.m. so I’m going to try and not think about this until later, because of my exam and the studying for the SAT that I have to do today (it’s tomorrow!) Plus I’m pretty sure I’m going to be rejected soooo…let’s hope I’m wrong=)

I just wish they’d tell us. I woke up so excited after being so disappointed yesterday…

I’ve been watching this thread a little bit since my kid has a lot of friends who are in the same situation as you all, waiting for decisions. It’s turning out like I thought it would - based on my kid’s EA schools decision process. UNC will probably release them late this afternoon. The admissions people don’t want a flood of reactions after they are released - they want you all to process them over the weekend. They want you all to have time to settle down. If there are hours that the admissions office is open after the decisions are released, they know they will be bombarded with phone calls and emails. Therefore, I think you are looking at late today - close to closing time.

Of course, as always, I could be wrong. However, I think this approach would probably be best for all involved. Just my two cents…

^^ that’s been my prediction too… though I hate to think of ten more hours of waiting :(

you may be right, but I wished they would have told us that they were not releasing in the middle of the night (like they did last year).

Or they could simply shut the doors and call it a day after posting! This is sooooooo frustrating!

Haha yeah that wouldve been the nice thing to do! I wonder why they’re waiting soooo long. The excitement part is starting to wear off a little…it’s being fast replaced with grumpiness due to lack of sleep lol :)

Woke up to a 2-hour delay for the kids because of snow … so maybe there will be some news for my D before the calc test later this morning!

I agree with Swimmer. They released EA decisions for class of 2012 at around 5 PM

^^ That’s good for y’all. Maybe there’s a chance that the agonizing wait will end before school. Just so everyone knows- today is a milestone for me. in four yrs I’ve never been awake before sunrise on a non-school day unless it was sats. This is crazy!

I’m off to school to take my calc final with no sleep, don’t plan on checking again until I get home. Fingers crossed…good luck, guys! :)
