extenuating circumstances...

So I got accepted EDI to GW's Elliott School of International Affairs and was planning on majoring in Middle Eastern Studies. However, I've undergone some tests recently that have indicated that there is a growth around the trachea in my chest area. This growth in my chest is likely going to turn out to be lymphoma according to my doctor pending a biopsy. GW was gracious enough to release me from my early decision contract and grant me an acceptance in the regular decision pool. However, if I turn out to have cancer, I will not be able to attend GW in the fall of 07. I really hope its not going to be cancer but if it is, then good luck to the class of 2011 as I will not be with you.

Oh, Nomad. This brought tears to my eyes. I really, really pray that the growth is not malignant; but if it is, I hope it is treatable and that you return quickly to good health.

God bless you and keep you. All the best.

I'll pray that it turns out alright. Everything happens for a reason so chin up and all the best!

Nomad: You are in our thoughts and prayers. Let us hope for the best.

God bless, best of luck, please keep us updated as to what the diagnosis is/how you are doing

Yeah I'll let everyone know how it turns out. Just so ya'll know GW is being surprisingly flexible with this at least from my point of view and I just thought that I'd pass that info along because I appreciate them.

Nomad, how's everything going? We're still thinking about you.

I got a CT Scan done yesterday. The radiologist ran iodine through my veins so they can get a better picture of what we're looking at. Basically, it should be able to tell us whether its not cancer or whether it could be cancer. I'm thinking that if it shows up as something that could be cancer that they may have to do invasive procedures to do a biopsy on the cells.

Thanks for the up-date. We'll keep our fingers crossed for you.

Hey kids i found out i dont have cancer! The mass turned out to be nothing so im healthy! Thanks for all the thoughts and comments i appreciate it!

Hey, wonderful!! I'm so glad for you. That must be a huge relief, and a burden lifted. Terrific !

Nomad:

That's great. You must be sooo relieved. So will you be attending this fall?

That's great news! Congrats!
