im a current junior in high school and i realy need help with adding some ec activities to my list. i have a bad gpa but im planning on making this up somehow through a great SAT and ACT score and through good extra ciriccular activities.
I want to get into a buisness school such as NYU's or USC's and i was wondering what are some extra ciriccular activites i can be doing right now?
Can anyone give me ideas of what kind of community service i should be doing and etc.?

MY ec activities until this point include
-frosh soph basketball for one year
-i play guitar in my church praise team (ever since around 7th grade)
-community service over last summer with helping disabled kids
-involved in red cross, key club, and Future Buisness Leaders of America (FBLA) clubs at school

To be honest you should probably learn how to spell extra curricular before applying to schools like NYU. Anway, ECs aren't going to help out that much if your GPA is already low. It's more important to work on bringing your grades up than loading up your schedule with activities. Extra curriculars are overrated. Getting into college is a numbers game now.

Just focus on a few ECs. You're already in FBLA, so go to the conferences, win, get to national level, become an officer... that should work for a business major.

remember, you just need to focus on your interests and really show colleges that you have a passion for something. just random community service out of the blue doesn't help. i just got accepted to boston college and georgetown with NO community service, but lots of work experience and starting and running my own business.

put effort into a few ecs that you are really interested in (this is important because you'll be spending many many hours on them, probably) and then try to get leadership positions. that helps.
