Hello, does anybody know any science and engineering related EC's in Canada (or better yet, Vancouver and the Lower Mainland)? Thank You.

actually I think Vancouver or even the whole Canada except for the area around Ontario are really lacking the opportunities for us..especially compared to US..., which will bring us to a disadvantage..

I am now in Vancouver.

and I think you should join some of your school clubs and take part in some regional scinece contest or sth like that.....

or if you can google sth....you will probably find more stuff

I live in the lower mainland as well. The only science related EC I could think of is volunteering at a local hospital or the cancer agency. I do both but its not a lot of medical experience. I don't know if this will help but hopefully. Also, I am trying to find internship opportunities in the lower mainland for this year as I am taking a gap year. Any ideas?

I was thinking about asking SFU, UBC, and BCIT for volunteer/career prep opportunities. But I can't seem to be able to find their (professors) emails.

Well I think you will show yourself as a strong candidate if you CREATE these opportunities. Start a project, mentor someone younger than you in science, tutor, whatever!

I'm Canadian and did a LOT of things through my highschool. There are always things to be done no matter where you live. Esp. in a big city like Vancouver.

@megtfs, Could you be more specific about the LOT of things you've done through highschool? It would help to serve as a guide for highschoolers.

thanks loads

Sure these aren't necessarily science specific (though there were options like helping the bio teacher with creating a saskatchewan grassfields area). I'm from Sask.
