I'm a junior whose thinking about applying to the usual suspects - several Ivies, a couple of LACs, and some of the better non-Ivy universities. My test scores (AP, SAT II, and SAT), courseload, GPA, etc, are all probably good enough to get me acceptances at most colleges. As a homeschooler (I mainly use a correspondence/online school), I have also pursued individual study which I can put on my application. So, to sum it up, I'm not worried about my academic credentials.

However, I'm worried about any emphasis on extra-curricular activities. I go to a correspondence school, so there aren't any clubs or athletic teams which I am a member of. Nor have I helped at soup kitchens or anything like that. My extra-curricular consists of a non-team sport which I have done every weekday for the last ten years. For the last five years, I have devoted over three hours a day to it. (NO, I do not homeschool for my sport.) I also have a part time job teaching this sport. Will the perception that, outside of school, I am extremely one-dimensional and have not participated in any volunteer work reflect badly on my ability to be admitted?
