Extra Curricular Activities - Awards, Recognition, Leadership, Commitment

Hi I’m a junior in high school.
I just wanted to know if these are enough ECs for Ivy League and any other top notch colleges.

  1. Charity Organizations (President of Everyone's Free and Future Member of BuildOn) - 4 years total
  2. JV Tennis (1 year) + Varsity Tennis (3 years, #1 Singles - coach said I'll be the captain in my senior year) - 4 years total
  3. Model UN - 3 years total (hopefully i'll be able to get an award or more...)
  4. Forensics - 4 years (a couple of small awards - might take on "student coach")
  5. Middle School Mentoring (and Tutoring) - 3 years total
  6. Church Youth Praise Band - 4 years in high school (more in middle school) - Praise Leader
  7. UofMich Lab Volunteer / assistant - 2 years
  8. NHS + SHS
  9. Summer Camps + School Enrichment Programs + Creativity,Action,Service
  10. Jazz Band (Maybe not)...

Are these enough? Should I improve on anything?

Better than mine, but similar to the tens thousands of other applicants to Ivy League schools/top notch colleges. You would probably have to get a presidential recognition award to make yourself stand out. My advice is (even though I’m not even in junior year) to be “pointy”, as one of my counselors said. It’s better to be pointy, sharp, and expert in one particular field than to lack finesse in others than be “well-rounded” in everything. Top colleges (colleges in general, actually) look to build a well rounded freshman class not out of a mass of people who know the same things and do the same things equally proficiently, but a wealth of individuals who can educate each other. Diversity!

Hmmm… Does President’s Volunteer Service Award count?
