Extra curricular importance?

Hello people of CC. I am new to this forum, so I apologize if I am posting in the wrong section. I am trying to apply for UNC's Chapel Hill, but before that I have some questions I need answered/clarified.

How important are extra curricular activities? This might sound REALLY bad but I am a Junior and I have not participated in any volunteering or clubs/sports. I plan on volunteering during the summer, possibly getting 200-300 hours. Will that look good or is EC's more for school activities? What else can I do to make myself look good? I have worked for my dad at his home job for at least 100 hours in about 3 years, does that mean anything to colleges?

If I get a 3.75 overall unweighted GPA and a 2000 on the SAT, am I guaranteed at UNC Chapel Hill?

Thanks in advance!

To be quite honest, you can stretch them.
Don’t do it too much.
But you can stretch them a bit. It’s what most people do anyway.
Unless the app specifies that you need to list the years you participated in activities, don’t.
Don’t lie outright, obviously, but you can stretch these things and sugarcoat them a bit.

I’m not that familiar with that school but I know that part time jobs and volunteer work look very good.
