Extra Essay?

<p>Hi,</p>

<p>I'm new, and like most of the people here, I'm applying to Yale. I know Yale requires two essays, one for the Common Application and one for the Supplement. I also have an essay about a community service project that's important to me. I don't want to overload the admissions office, but this project is only mentioned, and not explained, in the Extracurricular Activities list on the Common Application. Do you think I should include the extra essay?</p>

<p>Hey- I would definitely include the other essay- you have nothing to lose. Trust me, I don't think Yale admissions will hate you if you make them read 2 more pages about yourself.</p>

<p>A lot of admissions officers discourage any extra material--I know mine did. I would email yours and ask.</p>

<p>My rep used to say that she doesn't like any extra submissions, and that you want for her to be "as happy as possible" when she's reading your app. Here's the list contact info for the

<p>They extended the deadline specifically so that people who had questions would be able to get them answered before mailing in their apps...</p>

<p>Yeah but they extended it to Jan 4th which is only a day after the office reopens. I dunno about MelodyBreeze but I have to send my Yale app tommorrow before 4 PM (or ahem, I can't go to a certain person's house for a LOTR marathon). :eek: :eek: :eek:</p>

<p>Perhaps so, but I doubt MelodyBreeze that has plans to come to my house for a LOTR marathon, which means that she has until Jan 4th to mail her application. Umm, unless you'd like to come, Melody?</p>
