!!extra extra!! SHC does not look at SAT ACT scores!!!

So is it true can someone verify this! cant find it on line!

I just found out-
“The average SAT score of the incoming class of 2009 was 2075 although SAT scores are only used in the admission process to University Park, and not the Schreyer Honors College. The average high school GPA was 4.00 and the middle 50% ranged between 3.98 and 4.33. The middle 50% of SAT scores ranged from 1980–2170. Their 2007 ACT mid 50% is 31-33 composite score.[5] In 2005, the middle 50% of SAT scores for incoming honors students placed the College among all the Ivy Leagues, trailing only Harvard and Princeton”

This is very surprising to me. I don’t think my GPA is high enough although my SAT is…

I am partiality happy right now. scratch that! I am dancing in my underwear!
PS>dot worry, I am not a nerd nor a creeper.

I am so tired of people bringing this same topic up. This is definately true even though some people refuse to believe it. Dean Brady himself has even commented on debates about whether or not the SHC looks at SAT scores on college confidential, and he said that it doesn’t.

“The Schreyer Honors College does not set a minimum standardized test score or grade point average for its applicants. Candidates will be assessed based on the academic and extracurricular documents submitted with the application, as well as responses to essay questions and letters of recommendation.”

Well, assuming this is actually, completely true…it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t study for the SAT or ACT. What it means is, if you think you are getting in without a seriously high GPA and academic record that shows you are willing to work hard academically, you’re sorely mistaken. It prevents people like me (and rightly so) who (in high school) were able to score much higher on standardized tests based on intellect alone, but didn’t have any interest in working hard in high school.

In other words, this policy doesn’t really make anyone’s chances easier…

But it wont make it worse ether!

YAY!!! they dont look at mid year reports!!!

My GPA isn’t great compared to my SAT scores so I’m really worried about this. I guess I need to work really hard on my essays now.

Have any of you submitted your SHC applications already?

I am done with that crap… I mean app… you know… I am so happy!!! They see beyond your short comings!!
