Okay so I am currently taking 18 credit hours right now and this semester has been very very stressful. I thought I could do it and I didn’t think it was so bad until like a couple weeks ago I am just bumbarded with work and I have no free time and I just don’t have a life besides school and studying. Next semester, in order to graduate this year, I would have to take 19 credit hours. I don’t know if I should, because this semester has already been stressful and my grades won’t be all that impressive. Maybe straight B’s.
The withdrawal date is this Friday, what I was thinking is dropping out of my programming class (As I just don’t feel like I have time for it), and maybe just like spread out the 23 credit hours into 3 different semester. Would that look bad for colleges I want to transfer to? I already have a retaken class on my transcript, which surprisingly I am doing good in. Should I try to go part time and lower my coursework to get better grades and withdraw from my programming class, or just take the 19 credit hours next semester?
How many weeks are left in the current semester for you?
Could you push one or two classes from next semester to the summer?
@bodangles Well If I took summer courses, I wouldn’t be able to transfer fall after that summer.
If taking the maximum course load each semester is a little too much then take your time and do things at your own pace. Four year institutions don’t judge on how long it took to finish community college and employers shouldn’t be able to when you graduate with your four year degree. I’m in my first year of college and currently feel like I can’t handle any more than twelve credit hours a semester. I don’t think one or two retooken classes on your transcript looks too bad. There are plenty of people who have done a lot worse and bad enough to wind up on academic probation or kicked out of school and came back, did well, and then transferred to four year schools.
I spent three years at CC. I then spent three years at a state U. That was decades ago. No one cares how long you spend at CC. It’s getting the degree that counts. You should do what will keep you sane.
