What are some of the best student organizations to join on campus at UT?

What are you interests? There’s everything from sports to accounting to fashion design.

There’s an accounting club? Wow. When do the extra curricular actually start in general? It can’t possibly be during class. I am interested to be in a speech club so do you know anything about that? I also heard there’s fees you have to pay to join. What are the fees?

Yes there are organizations for every major and career path, such pre-law, pre-med, pre-optometry, pre-vet, etc… there are tons of other clubs for every interest you can think of too like WhyTwoKay said. As for when they start, they tend to recruit throughout the year by posting fliers and setting up stands, but this is usually at the start of each semester. Meetings are usually (if not always) held in the evening when most people don’t have classes. Fees vary depending on what organization you want to join.

If you’re a freshman - from one freshman to another. Give it a little time after you start school before paying to join anything unless you’re absolutely sure you’ll stay in it. 2-3 weeks till you set your pace with the workload.

If you’ve taken AP classes before, IMO the classes given here are basically like AP classes on steroids. So its a bit to get used to.

Also, theres a full list of official organizations on ut. Someone will probably give you the link if you dont find it first. I’m falling asleep here.

When you/if you go to orientation, theres a time set aside where you can go by a fair they have with everyone (frats, sororities, clubs, etc.) and they give away lots of free stuff too! so find that! if not – the first week of school.
