Which are some extracurricular activities related to science? My only true passion is science, and I have no extracurricular activities for when I write my essay for college. My school has no clubs I could join, so that's not an option. What do you think I should do? Do you think I should join an astronomy club which is about 2 hours away from my house, even if I will rarely be able to attend its conferences? Thank you for your help.

Try olympiads. You have to pay like 10-20 bucks to take the entrance exam. People like you (who can devote a lot of time to science) have the potential to do great.

Google USAPhO, USAChO, and USABO.

Thank you for your help BurnOut, I’ll definitely look into the ones in my country ( I don’t live in the USA ). Does anyone else have any suggestions?

MESA is another option.

If you live near labs or universities, you can see if someone would be willing to take you on in their lab. You may not be able to get great research experience as a high school student, but it’s still good exposure if you’re interested in pursuing something similar in college.

MESA is the Middle East Studies Association, right? If it is, I do not live in the Middle East, so that’s not an option. I don’t think there are any labs nearby either… Thanks a lot for your help everyone.

Haha, MESA is the Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement program, although it’s mainly based in California and you said you don’t live in the USA.
What type of science are you interested in? You could always start your own research project, which would be simpler if you were interested in environmental science and the like, or if you like computer science there’s tons of things you can do online; you could even code your own app.

I’ll definitely look into MESA, thank you. I’m mainly interested in physics and cosmology.

You should be warned that for some of the competitions mentioned above(Google USAPhO, USAChO, and USABO) are highly difficult to get into and take a lot of training. Do the best with what is available to you.
