Extracurricular-Foreign Languages

In the Extracurricular section of the Common App, you can choose "Foreign Language" as an activity.
I have been teaching myself Russian and Hindi for the past 2-3 years, and I wanted to put that onto the application. I am planning on majoring in Linguistics and Foreign Languages, so I thought that putting this on would help show my interest in this field.

However, is there anything I need to do to prove that I have been spending my time on this? There were not any standardized tests that I could take or really anything that I could do. On the application, I just put:
I am teaching myself ________

Is that okay? Does anyone know if I can make this better?

Thanks for your help

Well maybe you could write one of your essays about it to explain your dedication. And there is always the “additional information” section to include things that need explaining.

Thanks for your help. I would really appreciate any other comments
