I've heard that extracurricular activities were very important, so if it is, then would you recommend holding a leadership positions?

I understand that you might need it to get into a top notch college.

So, how would you recommend to start? I know just "starting a club" doesn't mean that you hold a leadership positions. I heard taht you have to be passionate and love what you're doing so you go in depth with it.

So i'm currently in 9th grade.... i'm in the math team and that's the only team i'm in. Idk how to continue on my extracurricular road ahead of me. Should i join another club i truly love? or start to hold a leadership position?

Here's the thing, how do you hold a "good leadership position"? by being captain of some club? or something else?

any tips are appreciated :D

If there’s a club that you think would be interesting and that people in your school might like to join, go ahead and start it. Good luck trying to convince people to join your club just because you need somebody to lead though ;).

Join some clubs and slowly gain more and more responsibilities. Come up with some good suggestions/ways to improve the team. When elections/appointments come along, you’ll be that much more ready to try for a leadership position.

A good leadership position is where you have a positive impact on the team and help others fulfill it’s purpose. It’s about what you can do for the club.

thank you so much AmaranthineD!
Is there any way of starting something with math at my school?
There’s already a mathteam in my school already and… idk if i should start another club related to math…

math team pro - The key is - Don’t worrry about it.

Do what you want, and enjoy it! There are a lot of great schools out there - and one will be happy to have YOU, not what you think they want. Good luck.

okay thanks man! :)) i don’t wanna be too ambitious and aim for ivies, although i will. I just want to get into schools like NYU, McCombs, and other business schools!
