In the spaces in apps for extracurricular and personal activities, is it acceptable to put Journalism and my position held even though I take it as a class? I am wondering the same about Orchestra. I take both as a class, but hold leadership positions.
Also, under the Academic Honors and Programs section, I am guessing National Merit Commended go under there, but would school awards (not recognized by any organization other than the schools) such as academic awards given out by the departments to one or two people per class go there too? Would they even be valid awards that colleges will consider?
