I did crew for about two seasons outside of my school and was pretty good at it but not amazing. After fall season, I quit to focus on schoolwork and my other EC's. I'm considering ivy leagues and possibly schools in England (Cambridge is my dream) and I know rowing is a big thing there. My question is, if I don't do any sports will that significantly harm my chances? Freshman year I did Model Congress and plan to continue it and someday become an officer. I also was a peer tutor. I plan on continuing those two plus debate team, DECA, some kind of volunteering club, and possibly starting or joining an entrepreneur club

Sports I suppose are fairly important (helps if you’re in Varsity and you become a captain) but not necessary.

For British unis, sports and other EC’s do not matter at all unless they are connected with your prospective course of study.

For schools here, unless you are a recruited athlete, sports matter no more than any other EC which show your passion.

Long-term commitment to any EC is always a good thing.
