Extracurriculars for aspiring Philosophy major?

Yes. This is the same person who posted the “Extracurriculars for aspiring English major?” thread. I don’t quite know if I will major in it, but I do wish to get some degree in philosophy. What ideas can you give me? I have begun a Philosophy Club, but I cannot think of many other ideas other than this.

IMO the answer is the same. Get involved with anything that you enjoy, you feel passionate about etc. There is no requirement to gear your ECs towards a potential major. For some people it works out that way and that is fine, but it is not necessary.

For a concrete example my S applied to business schools as an accounting major. His main ECs were doing TV/audio work for his HS cable channel, volunteering to teach disabled adults how to swim, and being involved in a community service group that helped the homeless. He didn’t even joined the HS business club because he felt they didn’t do anything worthwhile (and I’m guessing his assessment was correct). And he had excellent success with his college applications.
