Extracurriculars for Transfers

Hi! I know Cornell asks for extracurriculars related to what you want to do - does anyone have an idea of how heavily involved they look applicants to be? I have a few extracurriculars already at my current school (weekly volunteering, class council representative, selected for weekly workshops/training in my field, looking to get involved in research) but also have a demanding course load at a demanding, prestigious school. I was incredibly involved in high school and have an excellent HS GPA and scores to match - does the transfer application allow to show that as well?

I’m just worried that, because I want to focus on my academic performance here too, I won’t be as heavily involved as they might seek. I am applying to CHE if that has any influence.

You don’t need to be heavily involved in many extracurriculars; just be heavily involved in the ones that are the most meaningful to you.

For example, if you like research, consider interning in a lab and submitting a paper for publication. If you really enjoy Science Olympiad, get a leadership position and become more involved. Being in 30 different clubs means nothing if the interviewer asks you about them and you reply with a blank face.

And yes, the transfer application requires your high school transcript and standardized tests (SAT, ACT, etc.)
