Hey, can someone tell me if they think my extracurriculars are too low to get me into Georgetown?
I think my numbers are probably strong enough, but I worry that my extracurriculars fall short. I didn’t really start thinking seriously about schools like Georgetown until the spring of my junior year because I always thought they were kind of crazy goals. I just kind of planned to go to UT Austin. As a result, I’ve been heavily involved in organizations that I cared a lot for, but I haven’t really been building my resume with schools like Georgetown in mind, so I don’t know that I’m flashy enough. If you think my resume isn’t strong enough to get me in, is there anything I can do at this point to strengthen it?
I feel like I have strong extracurriculars, but when I look at the posts from some of the other students who are applying… I really don’t know that I can measure up.

Extracurriculars:
-Debate(9-12th)
-I’m a part of a very small program, and we have a debate coach who doesn’t want to be the debate coach, but he’s our coach because if he didn’t do it, then the program wouldn’t exist. I care a lot about the activity, but I’ve had to fight for it a lot. As president:
-I organized a viewing party for the Cruz/O’Rourke debates to raise awareness for our team within the school
-I addressed the School Board
-I volunteered at a middle school academics meet and used the opportunity to speak to incoming middle schoolers and pass out flyers
-Founded a parent booster club to help get my team to tournaments(I’m in the process of filing paperwork with the IRS to get tax-exempt status)
-Instituted after school practices(which didn’t exist before, as it’s a class)
-Created team research files
-Taught novices
-Competitively, I've also been fairly successful, but only locally, as my team doesn't travel. I have:
-Qualified to State three times
-Won 1st Alternate for nationals from a large district last year
-Qualified to Regionals in persuasive extemporaneous speaking twice
-District champion 11th grade(advanced to regionals)
-I've also done well at various local/regular-season tournaments
-Writing Tutor(hired position through the school district, run by ~6 students at a time, 10th-12th grade)
-Leo’s Club (Service organization, and I’ve been the secretary since 10th grade)
-Marching/Concert Band (9th/10th grade)
-National Honor Society (11th/12th)
Awards:
-National Merit Commended Student
-Attended Girls State on behalf of my school
-AP Scholar w/ Distinction
-Capstone Diploma (I earned a 5 in AP Seminar and AP Research… I completed sociolinguistic research last year which required me to give surveys and analyze writing samples)
-Silver Medalist on National Spanish Exam(9th-grade year, kind of lame imo, but it did earn me a letter jacket)
My teacher recs should be pretty strong as I have a good relationship with the teachers I asked to recommend me.
