I just began my junior year in high school, and through the current extracurricular activities that I currently pursue, I have realized I am very interested in the fields of public policy, economics, and education reform. I know those three fields are pretty different, but I love being active in my community and making sure that everyone has equal rights and opportunities, particularly in education. I hope to one day major in something related to public policy or education in college, but I wanted to know some extracurricular activities that you guys would suggest related to those areas.
I am currently the director of a non-profit that works for equal educational opportunities, and am a boy-scout, but what are some other activities that I can join to really stand out to colleges and also pursue my passions in policy and education? I found an internship but I want ideas for extracurriculars that I can pursue throughout the year. I really want to make a huge impact on my community in these areas, and any advice would be appreciated! (My dream college is Duke or Columbia)
